Done since v0.2 (coming in v0.3)
| Area | What's in |
|---|---|
| Effects | Like or ban effects; per-effect speed, intensity, colour shift, saturation and mirror; accent layer; zones with their own effect and brightness; 21 new effects (Lighthouse, Corner Bounce, Gravity, Wave Collision, Portal, Stadium Wave, Vocal Glow, Chorus Bloom, Drop Rewind, Bass Rain, Beat Counter, Spectrum Rings, Neon Sign, Box Breathing, Focus Timer, Wake-up Sunrise, Colour Cannons, Strobe Scatter, Oscilloscope, Text Scroller, Screen Sync); make your own effects from parts, with share codes |
| Timing and music | One-tap timing fix, audio input picker with level meter, song memory (songs heard live are recognised and use their stored beat map), vocal detection, auto-generated show timelines (editable per block) |
| Home | Home Assistant through MQTT discovery, night mode, sunrise/sunset schedules, backup and restore, one-click updates, text on matrix panels |
| Parties | Phones as extra lights (QR code), clip recording, guest song requests with votes |
| More lights | E1.31 and Art-Net, Govee (LAN, beta), OpenRGB, Nanoleaf (real panel layout), Philips Hue (basic), screen colour sync, power limit per controller |
| DJs and pros | Pioneer Pro DJ Link (beat grid from CDJs, listen-only), Ableton Link (tempo and beat, listen-only), MIDI clock (Web MIDI), MIDI controllers for the pads, DMX fixtures over Art-Net/sACN (pars, moving heads, strobes, lasers, fog) |
| Setup | Camera LED mapping: the strip's real shape from a phone or laptop camera |
Still to do
| Idea | Why it isn't done yet |
|---|---|
| Ableton Link: check against real apps | Written from the open protocol and tested against a pretend peer; needs a session with Ableton Live to confirm the wire format and the clock measurement |
| DMX: check on a real node and fixtures | Packets and channel values are tested; moving-head aiming and colour-wheel/gobo values differ per fixture (use a custom profile) |
| Philips Hue Entertainment (fast streaming) | Needs DTLS, which Node.js doesn't include; would need a dependency. Hue works now in basic mode (about 10 updates a second) |
| Effect gallery online | Share codes work today; a public gallery needs a small hosted service |
| Multi-room | Several rooms, each with its own music and show. Zones cover part of this today |
| Govee segments on more models, Nanoleaf/Hue discovery | Needs testing on real hardware |
Not planned: cloud accounts, heavy AI audio separation, custom ESP32 firmware (stock WLED is the point).
